Errors/Secondary Codes:
So you have a red light error What does it mean?
4 red lights: AV cable is disconnected or not recognized.
3 red lights: RROD - error with the CPU (Central Processing Unit)
1 red light: E74 - error with the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)
No Video: Error with the GPU
No Read: Disk drive error - dirty or dead spindle or laser
Secondary Codes: For any red light error the console stores a secondary code. To get the code, hold down the Sync button while pushing the disk tray button 4 times. Each time it is depressed the ring of light will light 1-4 lights. 1-3 lights correspond to the numbers 1 to 3. 4 lights = 0. After you will see a code such as 0102, 0020 or such. Please note: CODE 0001 means the power supply on the mother board is dead and so is your console. There is no fix that I can perform to repair that error.
